I always use:
 echo -n "PAL-BG" > cur_val

For me this works like a charm.
Never tried using big guns like vi on poor little cur_val

Subject: [pvrusb2] Cannot edit Video Standard using sysfs

My card is recognized and I can see the sysfs files. However, my is
recognized as SECAM-L but I need it to work in PAL-BG. When I edit the
cur_val file using vi in the ctl_video_standard directory, it doesn't let me
write. I get the following when I do :wq in vi:

"cur_val" E667: Fsync failed

Any ideas on how else I can change the value to PAL-BG?
