Kudos to Mike for trying to program with one hand tied behind his back.

Has anyone determined how to differentiate between the older and newer 
versions of the device? Serial number, manufacturing date, etc.?

I have a fairly good working relationship with the local CompUSA guys 
and the will let me open the box to check prior to plopping down the 
$150 to buy it. Perhaps because I bought a top of the line Vaio and some 
GE6800 cards and am going to teach Linux classes, they must like me.
