Kudos to Mike for developing a solution for the 24xxx hardware remote. I got it working with MythTV on Fedora Core 6 with a 2.6.18 kernel. The only thing I had to do after the appropriate installations was edit the lirc configuration file to match the command output of irw for the silver Hauppauge remote that came with the 24xxx hardware.
