[pvrusb2] pvrusb2 got stuck - 0 byte file, kernel panic

The only messages I see in mythbackend's logs are ones like this:

  MPEGRec(/dev/pvrusb2) Error: select timeout - ivtv driver has  
stopped responding

I get those when mythbackend tries to record something from the  
pvrusb2 when it's dead.
