Well... my dmesg output looks similar.

Regarding the "jammed" message: you might notice that the light on the 
device turns from red to green, then to red and again to green when you 
plug it in. The part where it changes from green to red is the one here:

The device cycles itself to initialize its firmware which might be 
located in a ROM on the device (according to one of the older message 
threads about the AV400), thus it needs to do this cycle to load and 
initialize the firmware from itself (or something like that). In the end 
this is normal behavior.

I don't know about the video input though. I'd need to look at my own 
dmesg output again.
