[pvrusb2] Recently lost IR support on my pvrusb2

I am not getting a /dev/lirc/0 device file!  Seems I lost remote control
functionality during the past couple of weeks.  Either kernel, udev, ...
or other upgrade?  I have ruled out newer lirc package upgrades by
downgrading to previous lirc versions and still no success with
obtaining a /dev/lirc/0 file.  (I have yet to rule out the batteries!)
