When viewed from a practical standpoint, currently all known cx2341x 
firmware versions work with the pvrusb2 driver.  To date, I know of no 
technical issues that would drive one to use one firmware version over 
another.  Realize I'm talking about this in the context of the pvrusb2 
driver; I can't speak to what is said in relation to the ivtv driver.
