[pvrusb2] new kernel breaks hauppuage pvrusb2 and hvr-1950 withmythtv

Since I've gotten the pvrsub2 to work on mythbuntu 10.04 kernel 2.6.32,
that's the one I'm going to concentrate getting the hvr-1950 to work.

Should I upgrade my kernel to 2.6.35 or 2.6.38?

Anyone know which version of the pvrsub2 driver works best with 2.x kernels?

Does anyone know how to get the v4l-dvb to install to the kernel directory?
It keeps making its own directory to install to.

I plan on some testing later on today (currently building a small pile
of new kernel versions) and hopefully should have more answers soon.

I don't understand this statement. Are you running something to change
the permissions on /dev/video0 after the fact? It would be much better
in that case to set up a udev rule so it's correct "the first time", or
ensure that the mythtv user is a member of the group associated with
/dev/video0.

I would expect mythbackend to look at all its tuners every time it
starts.

Unsure about this. It's been a while since I've had to fix things in
this driver, but I plan additional investigation hopefully later today.

The pvrusb2 driver itself hasn't had any substantial changes in quite a
while. However it's operating in a video4linux environment that is a
moving target. There's always a concern that a surrounding change might
break the driver. That's the sort of thing I will be looking at.
